Released on the Internet on October 26th, the award-winning short film "Piece of Paper" has attracted the media’s and audience’s attention. Before the releasement on the web, the short film - which questions how far people would go for money - has inspired reflections on the participants in many film festivals around the world. One example is the actress and presenter Babi Xavier, who hosted for the second time the Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival, held in April. At the festival, "Piece of Paper" won the award for "Best Short Film.
"An actor knows that a movie is good when in his heart he feels that he would like to have participated of it. 'Piece of Paper' is a short film that surprises, because it is entirely possible as a reality. It's a movie that has a rhythm, a wonderful timing," says the presenter who - by that time - called Cesar Raphael on stage to receive the statuette for best short film of the festival:
"We talked about the movie and soon I desired to maintain contact with him. He is a young filmmaker and is already making movies with very mature and interesting ideas"
"It was certainly a very valuable recognition for all the difficulties we have overcome. We never would have made the film without the unconditional support of the entire team, crew and supporters, " said Cesar, who wrote, produced, directed and starred in the short film, winner of 12 awards since its debut in 2009.
How far would you go for a piece of paper? This is the question made by the short film 'Piece of Paper', released on wednesday, October 26th, on the Lumiart’s website and on the brazilian filmmaker Cesar Raphael’s website, who wrote, directed, produced and starred on the movie.
Containing elements of action and drama, the short film tells the story about the path of a bank note, since its printing until its final destination. The film had its première in 2009, held in the major cultural center in Belo Horizonte - the Palace of Arts. It was screened in four consecutive sessions for over 700 people. "Piece of Paper" has won 12 awards at film festivals around the world.
More than 200 professionals were involved in this independent film project. Unable to raise funds through the Rouanet Law for the Encouragement of Culture, Lumiart, in partnership with the producer Carla Onodera, the company Hemisfério Criativo and various organizations from Minas Gerais, has managed to bring the project to life with about only 20% of the initial budget of US$ 200,000. "We would have not being able to make the film possible without the support of the entire cast, crew, supporters and partners," said the director Cesar Raphael.
'Piece of Paper' is also the great inspiration for Lumiart’s feature film ‘The Traveler’, which is being produced in Los Angeles, United States. With a budget estimated at US$ 6.5 million, the movie is currently on casting process. ‘The goal is to have at least two big names of Brazilian cinema,’ says Thiago Bento, executive producer of the film. The screenplay was written by Cesar Raphael and Amanda Moresco.
The director, producer and screenwriter Bobby Moresco – who has won the Oscar by ‘Crash’ and produced the award-winning "Million Dollar Baby" - is producing the movie.
With a multi-plot structure and elements of action, adventure, drama and romance, ‘The Traveler’ has the world of Hollywood as a backdrop. The shooting is planned to start in the first half of 2012 and the release is scheduled to the end of next year.

Lumiart’s movie “Piece of Paper” was awarded “Best Short Film” at the Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival 2011. The award ceremony was held last saturday, april 30th at the Landmark Theaters where the writer and director Cesar Raphael took home not only the trophy but also R$5.000,00 on equipment renting at Quanta Lighting.
The award came only two days after the official announcement, also held at the LABRFF, that “Piece of Paper” is now being developed into a fully feature film. (See http://cesarraphael.com.br/new/noticia/282/En/).

The short film caught the attention of the academy award winning writer and director Bobby Moresco and of his daughter, writer Amanda Moresco, who is now collaborating with Cesar Raphael on the script for the feature.
“I was truly blowed away by it. The first time you look at Piece of Paper, the first thing you notice is: ok, this is a filmmaker who understands the story that he is telling. From the first frame you get a point of view. And a point of view is a difficult thing to find in most filmmakers. Specially young filmmakers... And then everything about the movie is good. That’s unusual. Truly unusual” Recalls Bobby Moresco during the public announcement: “When they told me about turning it into a feature film I said: great idea, you already know how to make a movie now just go for the script...I wanted to come here tonight to support the film” he completed.
“It was about 6 months ago that I’ve watched Piece of Paper for the first time. I sat and I watched it and I said: This is the best movie I’ve seen all year! And I really meant that and I am really proud to be part of this project” said Amanda Moresco before the screening of the short.
The announcement was made exclusively at LABRFF on the Landmark Theaters in Los Angeles - California.

As the theme of organizing files may not seem very appealing at first, the agency opted to address the subject with good humor as its focus. Lumiart chose to work with funny situations based on everyday events, where the characters feel the effects of the disorder.
The illustrations of the materials were produced using the same criteria of technical and artistic used on Netiqueta’s campaign, previously developed for the same client. We created 5 email teasers and 3 posters that address the diverse angles.

The agency of ideas Lumiart has developed an institucional outdoor for Artes Construtora. More than serving as a sales tool, the piece aims to assist in managing client's brand, bringing visibility to it and dealing with the company values in a conceptual manner.
Because it is a piece to be broadcasted in external environment, the outdoor uses simple and straightforward language and its contents are highly memorable and easily absorbed.
Pieces were produced in order to assist in work safety

This was designed with simplified language and massive use of illustrations to represent recurrent situations that happens day by day on business. A character was developed in order to create narrative continuity, being exposed in different contexts.
The use of drawings helped to relax the very seriously level of information, without disqualifying the content. The booklet, the main part of the campaign, is an item of internal communication material directed to security, distributed after the training is complete.
